Gifts and Gallery

Did you know that the Linn County Arts Guild was formed 11 years ago as a means of connecting Linn County artists and giving us a forum to share and promote our art? We began by holding a holiday store every year at a vacant building in downtown Lebanon. Then five years ago we rented the space we now occupy on the corner of Main and Ash in downtown Lebanon.

We love our corner location. We have big picture windows for displaying our art. We feel like we are a part of the downtown community as we watch people walk around. We even have a prime view of the many cars that turn right to go the wrong way down Ash!

But we have a lot of people, many of them longtime Lebanon residents, who tell us they didn’t know we were here.

We are here, and we have a lot to offer.

We are a gift store and gallery, so when you enter, you will not find only beautiful wall art, though there’s plenty of that, but smaller gift items in every price range. We have practical items, like microwave bowl covers, goat milk soap, scarves, blankets, bags, and aprons. We have small art items under $10 like mini canvases, magnets, and coasters. We have yard art and many indoor pieces created with outdoor materials, perfect for the Hygge folks. We have pens and pendants, pepper mills and bowls. We have inexpensive bead bracelets and high value natural stone necklaces. We have laser-cut notebooks for lefties and righties and we also have beautiful hand-decorated eggs. And cards! We have a wonderful selection of cards!

So you see, there’s a lot more than wall art at the Gifts and Gallery store.

But why don’t you come see for yourself?

2020 Changes – Call to Artists

After a nice rest and a bit of rearrangement of the store, we are back up and running. Some artists were only here for the holidays. Look for them again come November. We said goodbye to our longtime friends Nemo Laine Art. They have promised to come back for classes and Meet the Artist events, so watch this space if you are a fan of their art. We also said goodbye to Kathy Jones and her beautiful stained glass and jewelry art, but not before buying up some of her pieces for personal enjoyment. We wish both of these artists well in their new endeavors.

What does this mean for the gallery? Well, for one, we have space. If you are an artist who has been wondering about showcasing your art in a public forum, come see us. We have a jury committee, but don’t be intimidated by that. We consider ourselves an approachable gallery and our store is a great place for you to get your start. Having a jury committee ensures that we don’t duplicate art that’s already in the store and that pieces are finished and ready for the buyer to hang or use immediately upon purchase. We are discussing some short term display options as well, so watch this space if that’s of interest to you.

Are you an artist who loves to teach? We have space for you. We have tables and chairs, a small classroom setting (or the ability to set up in the main gallery), and miscellaneous other items you might need to hold a small class. Inquire at the gallery if this might be something you are interested in.

Above all else, we want our community to know how much we appreciate your support. Whether it’s just a brief stop to appreciate our art, joining us for one of our fun art classes, a suggestion to a friend to stop in, a vote for a window display, or a decision to purchase one of our handmade items (which really warms our heart), we are so glad to have you as a part of our experience. Here’s to you!

See you at the gallery!
