Halie French – Acrylic, Watercolor, and Oil Painting

My name is Halie French. I do watercolor pet portraits and also paint on repurposed dull sawblades with acrylic paint. I paint with oil paint as well. I paint most any subject, but love to paint animals the most.

I’ve loved art my entire life, ever since I could hold a pencil. I loved making animals out of clay. I got into painting class instead of drawing class in high school, where I learned acrylic painting. After high school, I attended Linn Benton Community College, where I took three years of art for my associates degree in Fine Art and where I fell in love with oil painting. I took another 3 years in Graphic Design for my associates degree in Graphic Design. After that a friend introduced me into the world of watercolor and that is where I found my love of painting pet portraits and how I earn my living.

My art has been exhibited in Linn Benton Community College art shows, where I won a Jurors’ Choice Award for one of my abstract paintings. It was also on exhibit in a co-op gallery in Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast for 2 years. I have been part of the Linn County Art guild off and on for about 6 years now.
